Our MS4 Program

The objective of the Prince William County Public School Storm Sewer System (MS4) program is to protect our local waterways by managing storm water pollutants by implementing six Best Management Practices (BMPs) or minimum control measures (MCMs). Those six MCMs are:

1.       Public Education
2.       Public Involvement/Participation
3.       Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination
4.       Construction Site Storm Water Runoff Control
5.       Post-Construction Storm Water Management
6.       Pollution Prevention/Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations

Our MS4 program is required and part of the Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (VPDES). The program is regulated by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (VDCR).

Additional information on the MS4 program/Annual Report may be obtained from the following Environmental Program Managers
